TRANSFERS IN THE CORPORATE OR CLIENT'S OWN NAME

Same-name fund transfers are a Digital Reserve Pty Ltd service: AUD, USD and HKD transfers in the client's own or corporate name to brokers, insurers and the client's own accounts. The same-name account service carries no separate account or transfer service fee; where conversion is involved the spread is shown in the quotation, and bank or intermediary charges, if any, are disclosed as incurred. Cross-border trade receipts and payments, operating payments and bulk payments are provided and separately contracted by a licensed remittance partner and coordinated by your relationship manager.

Same-name principle

Definition of same-name

  • Payer and payee are the same natural person or the same company
  • Premiums: paid from the policyholder's own account for the policyholder's own policy

Digital Reserve does not

  • Pay premiums, tuition or any other amount on behalf of a third party
  • Lend an account for a transaction
  • Facilitate the transfer of funds out of mainland China
Same-name accounts

What a same-name fund transfer is, and is not

Is a same-name account a separate bank account opened in my name?
No. The same-name account is a transfer service that Digital Reserve, as an AUSTRAC-registered remittance service provider, processes in your own (or your company's) name: funds move from an account in your name into the company's client funds account, are recorded against you in segregated client ledgers, used only for that transfer, and are paid in your name to your broker, insurer or own account. The company does not open separate bank accounts for clients.
What payer name does the recipient see?
The payment instruction names you (or your company) as the remitter. How this is displayed depends on the receiving institution and its banking rail; your relationship manager confirms this in writing before the first transfer.
Who holds the funds and how are they recorded?
Client funds are segregated from the company's own funds and recorded per client, with balances and movements maintained individually; each transfer is evidenced by a payment record and monthly statements can be exported from the client portal.
Can both broker funding and premium payments be handled?
Whether an inward payment in your own name made through a remittance service provider is accepted must be verified with each specific receiving institution; no general assumption is made. Your relationship manager checks the funding requirements of the broker or insurer you nominate before the first transfer and records renewal schedules.
Which arrangements require a separate contract?
Same-name fund transfers are provided under the company's remittance terms and conditions. Cross-border trade receipts and payments, operating payments and bulk payments are separately due-diligenced and contracted by a licensed remittance partner, coordinated by your relationship manager.
How are fees calculated?
The same-name account service carries no separate account or transfer service fee; where conversion is involved the spread is shown in the quotation, and bank or intermediary charges, if any, are disclosed as incurred. The quotation shows the amount paid, the exchange rate, the service fee, other applicable charges, the expected amount received and the quotation validity.
